We have a winner! In the month of February, students from the mid and high schools in the area were given an opportunity to design this year’s balloon rally logo. The committee received 15 entries from Springer High School and Raton Middle School. The winner of the 2013 International Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally is Cass Kear, a sophomore at Springer High School. Congratulations! Not only will Ms. Kear ride in a balloon during the event, but her logo will be used in advertising and merchandise.
There is a balloon meeting Monday, March 11th at International Bank. We still need volunteers to get this momentous event “off the ground” and everyone in the community is invited to help.

Be on the look-out for new benches on Park and Cook Avenues. Not only will these benches add beauty to our downtown area, but it will be a convenient place to rest while folks are out shopping, sight-seeing, or enjoying street fairs and other events downtown.
